Block 4 Start | Relationships

In Block 4, we explore one of the key foundations of long-term well-being: our relationships with others. We have outlined our personal plan for this block and will summarize the outcomes once the month is over. You are invited to follow along, come up with your own plan, or simply read along. Block 4 Start | Relationships

In Block 4, we explore one of the key foundations of long-term well-being: our relationships with others. Gaining a deeper perspective on relationships

1 | Intention

Our intention for Block 4 is to gain a deeper perspective of the nature of our relationships.

2 | Daily Routine

Our daily routine for this block is to send one intentional message, written or spoken, to a person in our "mosaic" (3 | Quest). A message of gratitude, of reflection, or simply asking how the other person is doing.

From the previous blocks, we are carrying forward the following routines that have delivered real benefits to our well-being and that we think act as supporting pillars:

  • Action roadmap implementation (Block 1: Productivity)

  • Meditation practice (Block 2: Mindfulness)

  • Journaling (Block 3: Relationship with Yourself)

3 | Quest

This month, we are building a mosaic of our relationships. Each piece is a person we have reached out to that day (2 | Daily Routine), and a reflection on our relationship with them. We are keeping the format intentionally open. Part of the exploration will be discovering what types of reflections this exercise brings up and what picture the mosaic will reveal.

Attachment Theory in Practice

by Susan M. Johnson explores the healing power of emotional connection from a psychotherapeutic perspective. She draws on extensive research on adult attachment and walks through the practical application of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

We chose this book for Block 4 because it offers useful conceptual grounding in how our emotional bonds shape the way we relate to others and how past relationships have shaped the way we approach them today. While it doesn't cover every dimension of the topic, we expect it to add meaningful depth to our quest and routine this month.
